Shoegaze Takeover! Teamonade is Back with Their Beautiful and Foggy New Single

Since 2018, Ohio three-piece Teamonade has been shaking up the fifth-wave emo scene with its fuzzy and organic midwestern sound, and with the release of the band's new single, “Relief”, they sound fuzzier than ever. Jangly guitars and soft minimalist drums blend with vocalist and primary songwriter Osi Okoro’s distinct and heavily layered vocals creating a dreamy and gorgeous soundscape that is almost closer to ambient post-rock or slowcore; a trend we’ve been seeing a lot of lately since shoegaze’s digital revival over recent years, especially with feeble little horse’s Girl with Fish and Wednesday’s Rat Saw God receiving widespread fan acclaim. Teamonade seems to be embracing their already fuzzy sound and moving away from the sudden contrasting explosiveness typically seen in the latter halves of their previous songs. This track is lavish, alluring, and kind, much like the budding band's social media presence, and I cannot wait to see what direction the three of them take their sound in.
