Doors at Seven Announces Lucy Goose Records

On Monday, April 22, our Doors At Seven founder Noelle Janasiewicz announced Lucy Goose Records in partnership with her brother Zach Janasiewicz. Lucy Goose Records is Doors At Seven’s new independent record label and music space in Rosendale, NY that will be opening soon. There is currently a GoFundMe page to help with the opening and operating of the new space. I got the chance to ask Noelle some questions about the exciting announcement.

Has this been something you’ve been wanting to do for a while?

Yes, I have wanted to run a venue since I got involved with live shows and booking back in 2020.

What will the new space be used for?

The new space will be used as a recording studio for the record label we are launching “Lucy Goose Records” and events such as live music and more!

Why did you choose the name “Lucy Goose Records”?

The name Lucy Goose comes from a beloved dog we used to live with named Lucy. Another nickname we had for her was Goose. I would take walks with her owner Katie and my dog cooper and we would talk about our dreams for the music community. Then we used the branding of a dog for our  DIY basement venue “radioshack” that was based off of a photo of her. Sadly, Lucy suddenly passed away at the end of radioshack and now that we will have an actual venue of our own it feels right to name the new space in her honor because she was there from the beginning.

How has it felt to have so much support from the community since the announcement?

I have cried probably a thousand times at this point. I was expecting people to be excited but I was no way expecting the high volume of support that has been coming in. It has made us all feel so much more pride to be a part of this community.

What made you choose Rosendale as the new hub for Doors?

It is exactly a 14 minute drive from New Paltz! We had no plans of opening a venue, it was actually something we thought we could do around year five of the business but we saw a space open up in Rosendale that was in our price range and when we went to look at the space we knew it was meant to be.

When will it be open to the public?

Memorial Day weekend or early June!
